Five-star Google reviews from homeowners we have worked for.
Paul came out late at night to replace my leaking water heater. We weren't home. He came, I opened the garage from afar, he removed the old heater, and replaced it with a beautiful model. I am certain it was not what he wanted to be doing at that time of night. We came home to a clean home, rusty water cleaned up, and an awesome water heater correctly installed. The regional inspector approved the work in a flash and told me that I had a great heater. We are happy.
gthsmh During our kitchen upgrade, my wife wanted Natural Gas cooktop to replace our current electric cooktop/oven. Working with Paul we were able to route a new gas line from the main meter through a finished basement to the kitchen area to provide gas to the cooking area. Completely satisfied with the work performed, price paid, permitting experience, and overall work preformed. Also used Paul to replace the pressure regulators for one to the main house and one to the sprinkler system. Again, completely satisfied.
Dennis F Paul DeWalt added a water shut-off valve for me to replace one that was buried in the floor, without needing to destroy the floor. He also installed an expansion tank to my water heater, cleaned debris from the water lines, and replaced my kitchen faucet. All excellent work at fair prices. I highly recommend DeWalt Plumbing Services!
Karen Williams Paul has been our plumber for over 12 years, starting with a whole house remodel where he replaced just about everything plumbing related but the pipes. He has done several custom projects for us including adding dual dishwashers, a unique dual water heater system to give us plenty of hot water without gutting the house, and replacing an old stand alone water heater in a second home with a boiler water heater that produces four times the hot water. When the inevitable challenges come up on more involved jobs he does whatever it takes to solve them without being asked, including dealing with new inspectors and manufacturers. Paul also keeps up with the latest plumbing technology, giving us great advice we didn't know about on repairs & improvements. Always frugal with our money, we usually have to tell him to replace a component that still has life left. We don't call anyone else.
Tom B Excellent service and pricing.
Bill Johnson Paul did a fantastic job. He came to the house on short notice and hooked up my gas grill. He was reasonably priced and very well prepared. I would definitely recommend Paul.
Russell Young DeWalt plumbing has been a great service to work with! Both times I needed help they were very responsive and came out as soon as possible. With my water heater issue they said the part was under warranty and handled the part replacement - no cost to me! Competitively priced and great service!
Jeff Conrad I can always count on Paul! Whether for a planned project or in an emergency (I've had several of both), he's always been very responsive and quick to help. Quality work, reasonable prices. My go-to plumber. Can't recommend DeWalt enough!
James Livengood Dewalt Plumbing Services service all our plumbing needs for over three years between two homes. Paul and his team are very knowledgeable and provided all our services at fair prices. I highly recommend AAA+++
Judy Freshwater Outstanding plumbing and excellent communication! Very thankful for DeWalt plumbing - my go-to for all my plumbing needs.
Todd Strawser Paul from DeWalt Plumbing Service did an outstanding job from start to finish! He arrived on time, diagnosed the issue quickly, and left the work area spotless while fixing our plumbing problem with absolute professionalism.
Abraham Cobian Technician arrived on time with a good idea of what needed to be done. He had the correct parts and proceeded to work right away. This was a simple hose bib repair. It was completed quickly and clean up followed. I was very happy with the Service that was provided.
John Nobles I had an issue that involved an improperly seated seal, which unfortunately my down stairs neighbor informed me of... So, I looked at it. And, I thought I'd fixed it. Ring, ring and the neighbor calls a few weeks later. Another $500 in sheetrock repair since I wanted a professional to do it. Instead of spending a $1,000 in sheetrock repair, I really could have saved a lot by calling Paul to take care of the seal issue. Paul drops by in his van full of tools. Not only does he fix the root of the issue, he kindly explains additional mitigating steps in order to ensure that the issue doesn't happen again. These things that he showed were from experience and on-the-job know-how. His top notch experience, professionalism, communication, and humor are worth the price! Everyone should have a plumber on speed dial and Paul is the man!

Joel Binford Nice nice job, still working fine installed in 2015 if I remember correctly.
Francis Murphy Paul took over a central hot water heating system for 41 Townhomes. His diligence got the system working properly. Many trips to the project.

Sally Dalesandro Amazing quality and attention to detail. Paul replaced a 50 year old shut off valve and replaced a faucet in our kitchen beautiful work. In and out quickly
Jack Brown You won't find a better technician than Paul when it comes to hot water boiler systems. My older Boiler runs like new again after his diagnosis and repair. Would highly recommend his services.
Geoff V Using DeWalt Plumbing was probably the best and most useful thing I have ever done. Paul Dewalt is very kind, professional and fair. I have relocated out of state since last using his services and my regret is being too far away to avail myself of any future projects. I would not hesitate to use him again or recommend him to others.
Sheila Ellingsworth Dewalt plumbing should be everyone’s plumbing company in the area! Paul is a scientist! He came in to my garage and completely replaced old heat system with a new state of the art system. The pipe work he came up with is a masterpiece! The garage heat is amazing!
Todd Hood Paul installed a new 80 gallon water heater. His installation has spanned the test of time. It has been over 15 years and no leaks and water heater has not needed to be replaced.
Eileen A DeWalt Plumbing installed a new water heater for us. Top quality work and very accommodating with our busy schedules and large family. Highly recommend!
Scott Fravel Reviews are important to consumers, especially in the home mechanical areas because we need competent, insured technicians fixing our issues and that's what I get with Paul and why I'm writing a review. I've got a complicated double boiler tank-less water heater system that is mechanically on par with the space shuttle proving domestic hot water and floor heating and has given me fits with reliability. Paul worked with the manufacturer and fixed this thing giving me a great peace of mind, which I need living in the mountains. Paul knows how to get it done and has my complete trust. Call Paul if you have tough problems, you won't regret it.
Jim Herrell Paul was great! Called him for a leak and within 1 hour he was here and fixed it
Mason Lawson Paul was both courteous and responsive, very helpful to get warranty part from manufacturer. Would recommend Paul to anyone who needs plumbing Services. (He helped me with Noritz tankless water heater)
Nathan Ricker Great service. Rearranged his appointments so he could give me same day service. Came about 20 minutes after I called. Prices are very reasonable.

Signs your sump pump needs work
Most of these are a stuck switch or a worn part. A few mean the pump is done.
- It runs and runs, or starts every minute or two
- The pit is full and the pump does not start
- It hums but no water moves
- Grinding or rattling when it runs
- Water runs back into the pit when it stops
- A damp floor or standing water around the pit
What a sump pump does
Many basements along the Front Range have a drain pipe laid around the outside of the foundation. It collects water from the ground and carries it to a pit in the basement floor, and the sump pump sitting in that pit lifts the water out to the yard before it can rise. Most of the year it barely runs. After heavy rain or a fast spring snowmelt it can run for hours, and that is when a worn pump or a stuck switch shows up.
- Tested by filling the pit
- Discharge kept clear of the house
- Clear price before work starts
- Licensed Master Plumber
Sump pump repair, starting with the cause
A pump that will not start is often a float switch caught against the side of the pit, or a pump that has lost power, not a dead motor. One that runs nonstop may have a switch stuck on, or water running back down through a check valve that no longer closes. One that hums without moving water is usually jammed or worn out. We test the pump by filling the pit, find the part that has failed and fix that, with a clear price before we start.
Sump pump installation, sized to the pit
When a pump is worn out, we put in a new one sized to how much water your pit takes in, with a new check valve so the water it pumps out does not run back down. We make sure the discharge pipe carries the water well away from the house, so it does not soak back into the ground around the foundation, and that the part outside cannot freeze shut in a Colorado winter. Then we fill the pit and watch the new pump run before we leave.
Repair it or replace it?
A float switch or a check valve is an inexpensive fix, and a pump jammed by grit can often be cleaned and put back. A pump with a worn motor, a cracked housing or years of hard running is usually worth replacing, because a sump pump that fails tends to do it on the wettest day of the year. We tell you which way we would go and why, with a price for both. The work is done under Master Plumber license MP.00189815.

Common questions.
Why does my sump pump keep running?
Usually the float switch is stuck on, the check valve is letting pumped water run back into the pit, or a lot of groundwater is coming in after heavy rain. We find which it is and fix that.
My sump pump hums but does not pump. What does that mean?
It is usually jammed or worn out, and running it that way can burn out the motor. Call us and we will check it, clear it if it can be cleared, or replace it.
Where should a sump pump drain?
Out to the yard, far enough from the house that the water does not run straight back toward the foundation. It should not be piped into a floor drain or the sewer line.
Can you replace my old sump pump?
Yes. We put in a new pump sized to your pit, with a new check valve, and test it by filling the pit before we leave.
How much does sump pump repair cost?
Every job is quoted on its own, because it depends on the pump and what has failed. Call us or send the quote form and you get a clear price before any work starts.
