Paul came out late at night to replace my leaking water heater. We weren't home. He came, I opened the garage from afar, he removed the old heater, and replaced it with a beautiful model. Signs your radiant floor heat needs a look
Most of these are a part in the boiler room, not the floor itself.

How a radiant floor system works
Hot water radiant heat runs warm water through loops of tubing laid in or under the floor. A boiler or water heater heats the water, a mixing valve brings it down to a temperature the floor can take, circulator pumps move it, and a manifold sends it out to each loop. Every one of those parts can fail, and the floor itself is rarely the problem. That is good news, because it means the fix is usually in the mechanical room, not under your floor.

Radiant floor heating repair, zone by zone
When one zone stays cold, we work through it in order: air trapped in the loop, a zone valve or its motor that no longer opens, a pump that has stopped, a mixing valve stuck closed, or a thermostat that is not calling. When the whole system loses pressure, we look for the cause, such as a failed expansion tank, a relief valve that drips or a leak at the manifold, before simply topping it back up.
Radiant floor heating installation and new zones
We put in new radiant systems and add zones to existing ones, from the manifold and controls to the boiler that heats them, sized for the rooms they serve. A basement finish, an addition or a cold bathroom floor are the usual reasons. Boilers and hydronic heat are common in Monument, Woodmoor and Black Forest, and they are a large part of the work we do.

Why is one room with radiant floor heat cold?
Usually because something on that zone has stopped: air in the loop, a zone valve or its motor, a pump or the thermostat. The tubing in the floor is rarely the cause.
Do you work on radiant floor heating that runs off a boiler?
Yes. Hot water radiant systems run off a boiler or a water heater, and boilers are one of the two things we specialize in.
